About

Welcome to my journey of life! Here’s a few facts about meIMG_20150126_164956

My name is Stephanie Alvarez, college graduate class of 2015 in Speech-Language Pathology. I’m 23, from the Bronx, NY and my family is from the Dominican Republic. Formally contributing writer on Being Latino. I currently hold an office job at my local parish while involved in youth and young adult groups.

I love my Catholic faith. I started serving God at the age of 14 in youth and retreat teams around the Bronx and currently volunteer with the Archdiosese of NY once in a while to help grow the faith among the tri-state area

In my spare time, I love reading, watching videos and movies, dancing, playing and watching baseball and singing my favorite Broadway shows (In The Heights, Newsies, Le Mis, etc.) I’ve done plays in High school as well as in my parish community. I love learning new languages. I know Spanish (hence the name spanglish), some French, Portuguese and Turkish (didn’t expect that last one huh?)

I love a good sense of humor, nostalgia, tips on increasing your faith, how to make the most of any day, season or plot twist and to inform people about the Latino/ HIspanic culture and language.

hope you enjoy the ride!
